Interested in learning how to add bold (and more) to your Youtube comments?

Good.

Then let’s get started!

There are three main effects that you can use to make your comments more exciting on YouTube.

They are:

  • Bold
  • Italics
  • Strikethrough.

Here’s what they look like:

How to make your YouTube comments bold.

Making your comments bold on YouTube is a really simple and easy way to emphasise a point your making.

If you want a word or a particular phrase in your comment to really stand out, you will want to use bold.

Here’s how you do it.

Whenever you want to format any kind of text on YouTube, the way that you do it is to put symbols on either side of the word or phrase that you want to apply the effect to.

If you want to apply bold to a word or phrase you need to surround that word or phrase with *asterisks*.

Easy isn’t it?

Just hit shift and 8 and your good to go.

How to italicize text in your YouTube comments.

Italicizing your text (or making it look slanted like this) is most often used to draw attention and/or emphasize a particular word.

Adding italics to your YouTube comments is really easy.

Simply bookend your chosen word or phrase with underscores. Here’s an example of what your comment should look like before you post:

Omg, I love your channel. It’s _literally_ saving my life right now!

And here’s what it will look like once you have posted:

Omg, I love your channel. It’s literally saving my life right now!

How to add strikethrough to your YouTube comments.

Strikethrough is when a word or phrase has a line running straight through the centre. It’s often used to add revealing information or humour to a post.

You can also use it to indicate that an item on a list has been completed.

You have probably guessed by now that all you need to know to add strikethrough to your YouTube comments is which symbol to use.

As with applying bold and italics, all you need to do to activate strikethrough is to surround your chosen word or phrase with -hyphens or dashes.-
